Green Stuff Capes My Way- Mi Metodo Para Capas Con Masilla Verde

Hey-o everybody! I'm back and I've got a pretty nice tutorial on here; so let's get on with it, shall we?
The first thing you're probably gonna want to do is decide where your cape is going to be fitted. It can come from the shoulders, neck, or even waist which is what I chose.

Next up you measure  how big you want it to be. At this point you want to decide how it's going to pose. It's not that hard to get it to look right, you can always clean it up later.

Here I've started to sculpt the folds of my cape. The final fit of my personal choice is at the bottom of the post on the Terminator Captain from Black Reach. Yes he's had a lot of mods done to him, but I think it's time to finish him up to get ready for painting. So what I did is take a ziplock bag and cut out a piece taking into account both sides and put the green stuff in between. You might or might not want the fold on the bag to be part of your plastic guide, it's up to you. To create folds, what I did was put some blu-tac (or plasticine clay), underneath the piece to be sculpted, that way it has a bit of resistance because too much "give" will not let you contrast the folds.

Here it is after it's dried, you just peel the plastic off like a sticker.

I had a bit of excess so I did a rough measure of the final size and cut it appropriately

Here's a mock up of where it'll go, don't get excited if it doesn't look like it's there yet, just use your imagination to fill in the gaps :)

In my case, I wanted to really secure the cape to the figure so I embedded some flexible pins into the green stuff where I sculpred more of it as folds at the ends of the cape. Also take note that the ziplock method is great for blending different layers of putty. Finally I mount it and do a little bit more work blending it onto the model, and the pins also let me finish posing up the cape by keeping the shape I bend it to from the inside so it looks right on the model.

All those details you see I did in the end are added as you might expect, just a string of green stuff where one fabric should end and the other goes on, and blending it in. Hope you like the end result!
